Could this possibly be the best story ever about a crashed B-25? An RCAF Mitchell full of Nazi gold, cash, and the "Spear of Destiny" leaves Saskatchewan and crashes near Pitt Lake, B.C. Wowie. The only problem is that none of it is true. But don't let reality get in the way of a good Indiana Jones/DiVinci Code story. Plus that disembodied computer voice is not only spooky, but laughable.
(Yes RCAF Mitchell # 5246 did take off from Saskatoon on February 16, 1953, and yes it did crash near Pitt Lake, B.C., but all the rest is one of the most implausible and silly conspiracy theories I've ever heard. Like for example why would the "Spear of Destiny be in Saskatoon in the first place? Hey, maybe the Holly Grail is really hidden in Flin Flon, Manitoba. Someone should check that out...)

Jim,
My colleagues in MIA Charities (Moore's Marauders) agree with you on this. We will be laying a plaque commemorating the five air crew near the wreck in the Summer, 2010. We will be conducting a recon of the wreck, now designated a provincial heritage site and under legislated protection, to lay to rest nonsense about Nazi Gold (and the Spear of Destiny). I find it amazing just how credulous some people can be. We are working in cooperation with the Dept of National Defence, RCMP and the BC Coroner's office. I am an academic and professional archaeologist. We urge extreme hikers who visit the site to show respect for the deceased and not disturb anything on site.

Has there been any news on the newly uncovered remains of a possible 6th person on board this flight...?
Apparently the remains have been exposed due to ice cover retreating.
I wouldn't put this one to bed just yet folks, as there was a well known route for WWII spoils though Canada because of the ease with which it could end up in the U.S. Thorough screening was not as high a priority up here.
